Today, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) announced its Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act funding formula for state and local roadway improvement projects. U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement addressing the FHWA's plan:

"Last year's sloppy infrastructure law gave Washington bureaucrats the power to meddle in state and local infrastructure projects. That's exactly what's happening today. The Federal Highway Administration's ultimatum that state and local governments obey the Biden Administration's woke environmental doctrine puts unnecessary strings on federal funding for road improvement projects. It's decisions like this that cause infrastructure projects to miss completion deadlines by several years and cost millions of extra taxpayer dollars."
