Today, Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) issued the following statement after U.S. Customs and Border Protection updated its monthly statistics on southwest border encounters:

"President Biden's failure to secure our border has once again led to record-setting levels of illegal immigration. Since this administration took over, more than 3.5 million people -- one-third of our state's entire population -- have entered our country illegally. This should alarm every American, regardless of their party affiliation.

"There is a national security and humanitarian crisis unfolding at the border, and the president's inaction is encouraging more drug smugglers and human traffickers to break our laws. It's time for President Biden to abandon his failed immigration policies and reinstate the effective solutions implemented under the Trump administration."
