Representative Mike Garcia (CA-25) took the charge in proposing an amendment to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, and Science that would combat the Chinese Communist Party's intellectual property theft that has resulted in the theft of hundreds of billions of dollars.

The "China Initiative" was instituted by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the theft of American intellectual property by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) until its repeal by the Biden administration earlier this year. It is estimated that the United States has already lost between $400 billion and $600 billion worth in intellectual property by the CCP.

Rep. Mike Garcia made the following remarks on the matter:

"The China Initiative was proving effective at fighting both IP theft and trade secret theft. But without substantiating rationale by the Biden administration, it was repealed this year," said Garcia. "As we know, China has implemented a policy that they refer to as "Rob, Replicate, and Replace,' and the United States must do everything in its power to combat the CCP from robbing our intellectual property. The Chinese Communist Party is our real enemy, and we must do everything to stop them from using our ideas to better themselves."

While the amendment was not adopted due to opposition by the Democrat majority, Garcia will continue to be a champion in Congress for standing up to the Chinese Communist Party.
