Hoeven Joins Colleagues in Effort to Overturn Biden NEPA Rules

Senator John Hoeven this week joined his Senate colleagues, led by Senator Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), in introducing a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to nullify the Biden administration's National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulation revisions. The recently enacted rules, authored by the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), add new, onerous requirements to the federal permitting process, causing further delays for vital, good-paying infrastructure projects that would help put Americans back to work.

"The 2020 NEPA regulations issued under the Trump administration significantly reduced the permitting process timeline, and now is not the time for additional bureaucratic regulations that will slow down projects that can help get Americans back to work," said Hoeven.

This effort was supported by all 50 Senate Republicans.
