Congressman Lamborn's Statement on the Supreme Court's Decision Regarding the Second Amendment

Statement

Date: June 23, 2022
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Guns

"The Constitution protects the right of law-abiding Americans to own a firearm for self-defense through the Second Amendment. While Democrats continue to allow for unsecure borders and push unconstitutional gun control measures, rising crime has made communities increasingly unsafe. This decision comes at a crucial time for the safety and well-being of Americans. Today's ruling strengthens the protections afforded by the 2nd Amendment, and rightfully ensures that all law-abiding citizens can defend themselves without unnecessary government interference."

The case, New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen, challenged New York's denial of concealed carry licenses for self-defense and asked the Supreme Court to declare whether there is a Constitutional right to carry a weapon outside the home.
