Today, Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 8294, the Democrats' partisan appropriations bill.
"We know President Biden and Congressional Democrat's social spending packages were key drivers of the highest inflation in four decades -- 9.1% above last year. Today's partisan six-bill appropriations package is insulting to families in my district and across the country facing record-high unaffordable prices at the gas pump, in the grocery store, and everywhere in between. Congress should work together to reduce spending and put core responsibilities -- like national security -- over wasteful social programs."
