Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved Community Facilities Emergency Rural Health Care Grants to the following:

Dr. Arenia C. Mallory Community Health Center/ Holmes County

$750,000

This Rural Development investment will be used to increase the capacity for

vaccine distribution, provide medical supplies, increase access to telehealth, and

assist with renovations.

Yalobusha General Hospital/ Water Valley, MS

$381,800

This Rural Development investment will be used to improve community health

outcomes by strengthening the backbone of the healthcare workforce in a rural,

economically at-risk, and medically underserved county by upgrading the heating,

ventilation, air conditioning and other critical equipment at Yalobusha General

Hospital.
