Rep. Wild Votes With Bipartisan, Bicameral Majority to Lower Household Costs, Avert Government Shutdown

Today, Rep. Susan Wild voted for the bipartisan, bicameral Continuing Appropriations and Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2023 (CR) to ensure vital federal agencies continue to carry out essential work through December 16th, 2022, while also providing resources for families to lower costs, help communities and small businesses recover from natural disasters and repair damage to critical infrastructure.

"This continuing resolution is the result of bipartisan, bicameral negotiations to support working families by lowering household costs, growing opportunities through early childhood education, and investing in high-quality job training," said Rep. Wild. "It fulfills our obligation to ensure that we continue to serve Americans without interruption and to assist communities--in Puerto Rico, Florida, and elsewhere--recover and build back critical infrastructure after recent natural disasters."

The CR extends funding for federal agencies through December 16th, 2022 and includes an additional investment in the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to lower household energy costs for Pennsylvanians.

In addition to averting a government shutdown, Rep. Wild voted in support of the following legislation this week:

H.R. 7780 Mental Health Matters Act to address America's mental health crisis among young people by strengthening school resources, increasing the number of mental health professionals in schools, and increase students' access to mental health care through their family's insurance.

H.R. 3843 Merger Filing Fee Modernization Act of 2022 to promote competition in the marketplace by strengthening antitrust agencies and protecting national security interests through increased transparency of foreign interests in acquisitions processes.
