Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released a statement on President Biden's State of the Union address:

"President Biden's State of the Union address effectively outlined the tremendous progress we have made for the American people in two short years. From record job creation and historic deficit reduction to lower health care and prescription drug costs and long-awaited bipartisan action to help our veterans, rebuild our nation's roads and bridges, and address the gun violence epidemic, President Biden's message was heard loud and clear: Democrats deliver. And we aren't finished yet.

"The President's vision for the future will ensure we build on the progress we've made by investing in our nation's greatest resource: the American people. With pro-growth investments that shrink deficits and costs for families, and commonsense reforms to ensure billionaires and corporations pay their fair share, President Biden underscored Democrats' commitment to building an economy that works for everyone -- not just the wealthy and well-connected.

"Democrats will never stop fighting for the American people, and we will not allow extremist politicians to inflict unnecessary financial hardship on working families in their quest to slash Social Security, Medicare, and the vital programs that made our historic recovery possible."
