Statement

Location: Washington, DC

Today, the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), issued the following statement in response to President Biden's nomination of Ajay Banga as the next President of the World Bank.

"Ajay Banga is well qualified to lead the World Bank. His considerable experience in managing international companies and driving investment to developing countries is what the Bank needs at such a precarious time for the global economy," said Chairman McHenry."It's no secret that President Biden has always catered to the far-left extremist ideologues in his party. Time and again, this Administration has put its radical climate and social agendas ahead of economic prosperity. I hope Mr. Banga's nomination represents a recognition that President Biden's financial management and nominees have been outside the mainstream. The next World Bank President must focus on the Bank's core mission of alleviating global poverty and the necessary reforms to confront China's economic aggression, rather than progressive pet projects. I am confident in Mr. Banga's ability to fulfill this role."
