"With another 253,000 jobs added in April, the question isn't whether our economic recovery remains on the right track, it's if House Republicans will throw it all away with their MAGA-manufactured default crisis."

But instead of protecting American jobs and building on this historic progress, House Republicans are threatening American families with an impossible choice: either accept our draconian cuts to education, public safety, veterans' care, and the lifeline programs working families depend on -- or watch us crash the economy on purpose."

"It is unconscionable that, instead of doing everything possible to ensure the United States pays its bills on time, House Republicans are actually celebrating their job-killing Default on America Act and its devastating cuts. What's worse, if House Republicans do force our nation to default, they'll kill over 7 million jobs.
