"Today I voted no on H.R. 3935, the House Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization measure. This flawed, costly bill adhered to a swampy, uniparty process that ensured conservative priorities were blocked, while special interests and lobbyists reaped the benefits.
Importantly, this bill did not add slots for long-haul flights to Reagan National Airport despite commitments made to that end. Nor did it address the antiquated "perimeter rule" -- thereby snubbing free market competition and cutting out 1.5 million San Antonians in the process.
This fight is not over yet. I will use every tool at my disposal to ensure that any final FAA reauthorization measure delivers for the people of San Antonio and includes additional flight slots at DCA."
