Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) today voted for the economic stimulus legislation that came back to the U.S. House of Representatives from the Senate. The Senate added to the original House legislation provisions which would provide tax rebates to senior citizens and military veterans. Miller released the following statement:

"Our veterans and seniors have helped made our economy robust and I am pleased they are included in those that will get back some of their tax dollars," Miller said. "The immediate relief provided in this legislation will be the shot in the arm our economy needs to turn around the recent downward trends. While I think that a short-term extension of unemployment benefits should have been included in the stimulus package, particularly because of the difficulties Michigan has been facing, I am pleased Congress acted quickly to enact a stimulus package that will help American families."
