Hare Responds to President's Comments on Trade

Congressman Phil Hare (D-IL), a member of the House Trade Working Group, today released the following statement in response to President Bush's comments on trade.
"The President's show and tell demonstration on the White House lawn is the latest in a series of desperate attempts to gin up support for unfair trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea.
"Missing from today's photo-op was the biggest export under NAFTA style trade agreementsgood paying American jobs.
"Tractors, motorcycles, and other props do nothing to illustrate the human toll of unfair trade. No matter how hard President Bush and his big business allies push for these agreements, I will continue to stand up for American jobs and workers."
