Boozman Strengthens Second Amendment Rights

Carry across state borders

U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) today introduced legislation that allows law-abiding citizens who can legally carry guns in their home state to carry all across the country.

The Secure Access to Firearms Enhancement (SAFE) Act, a bipartisan bill, will replace laws that only establish reciprocity between gun control states forcing gun owners to get carry permits before they bring their firearms into neighboring states.

"Our Second Amendment right does not end just because we travel to another state. This right cannot be dictated by state borders," Boozman said. "We owe it to our law abiding gun owners to address national gun right concerns."

The SAFE Act has 26 bipartisan original cosponsors and is supported by Gun Owners of America, a national organization with more than 300,000 members that strives to strengthen Second Amendment rights.

The legislation was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
