Issue Position

I believe we need to restore the quality of our state's schools. As a State Representative, I have advocated for rewarding teachers based upon their performance, and I have supported the rights of parents to choose whether their children attend public schools, private schools, or are home-schooled. As a former school-board member, I also understand the importance of continuing local leadership for our school districts. As Governor, I will promote education standards that ensure that Iowa's classrooms have curriculums which are both rigorous and relevant.
