Issue Position

Most people do not realize the influential role their State Representative plays in creating policies regarding the economy, taxes and a balanced budget. The State Legislature writes the legislation that determines whether or not a sales tax is increased or a small business tax is raised--all of which are passed on to working families. The State Legislature is also tasked with creating and passing a budget for the entire state of Indiana. I will work to keep taxes low for business and working families, as well as ensure a fiscally responsible budget is passed for the State of Indiana. In the last fiscal year, Vanderburgh and Posey County taxpayers sent more to the state in taxes than the county got back in funding. I will work will all of the local delegation, within and outside my party, to reverse this trend.
