Senator Brownback Puts Forth Failed Florida Schools

Statement

Date: Sept. 2, 2010
Issues: K-12 Education

The following is a statement from gubernatorial candidate Tom Holland regarding Senator Sam Brownback's education forum with former Florida Governor Bush:

"Rather than present a specific plan of his own, Senator Brownback wants to copy Florida's failed education system where the graduation rate is among the worst in the country, where poorer communities are forced to raise property taxes to keep their schools open and where public dollars are given away to private groups through vouchers. It's time Sam Brownback stops hiding his agenda for Kansas schools and comes clean on what changes he would make to our school funding formula," said Holland.
