Issue Position: Environmental Protection - Preserving Our Communities

Issue Position

Environmental protection is an incredibly important issue but just as important is utilizing our resources appropriately. Examples include the Franklin Farm project in Cumberland, owned by the Town of Cumberland, this historic property is today a center of educational opportunities, community development, and provides pounds of food to the RI food bank. Another example is that we must work with our Federal Congressional Delegation to preserve areas such as the John H. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor in Cumberland and Lincoln that today is utilized extensively.
