Noem Statement on Latest Jobs Report

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Kristi Noem (R-SD) issued the following statement regarding the latest jobs report showing the unemployment rate rising to 9.2 percent in June.

"The jobs numbers out this morning punctuate the continued lack of focus on policies that will actually spur job creation and economic growth by the White House and congressional Democrats. As a former small business owner myself, I understand the difficulties in maintaining a business let alone expanding one. That's why Washington must abandon the path of more heavy-handed government regulations, misguided, wasteful spending and higher taxes," said Noem.

"House Republicans have put forward a job creation agenda that encourages entrepreneurship, increases access to American-made energy and makes our government live within its means. Until Washington focuses on growing our economy, Americans will continue to ask, "where are the jobs?'" said Noem.
