Issue Position

It is the constitutional right of citizens to protect themselves, their families, and their property from harm. If gun control were to go into effect, then it would only affect those who abide by the law. It would not affect criminals who get their guns from the black market. Therefore, gun control could only lead to an increase in crime because of the many defenseless families and property owners. An individuals right to bear arms gives law abiding citizens the right to protect themselves as a last line of defense from those who wish to harm them before the police arrive. We must protect this right.
