Representative Becerra Applauds President Obama for Endorsing Same Sex Marriage

Today, in response to President Barack Obama affirming his support for same sex marriage, and becoming the first sitting President in United States history to endorse gay marriage, Representative Xavier Becerra (CA-31), Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus and a long standing advocate for equality, issued the following statement:

"This is a milestone in our fight to secure equal rights for all Americans. I applaud President Obama for his leadership, for being bold, speaking from the heart, and reaffirming America's founding principle of 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' for all Americans regardless of their race, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation."
