Issue Position

The obligation to protect the border belongs to the Federal Government. In the absence of comprehensive action on the part of the Fed to stem the tide of illegal immigration, drug trafficking, human trafficking, I support tort reform to protect our law enforcement officers during the performance of their duties. We should never incarcerate our sheriffs, border patrol agents and other law enforcement officers while turning the criminals loose on technicalities to further assault our citizens. I would carry/support legislation mirroring our state laws to federal law where illegal international activities are concerned so Texas Peace officers can act to aggressively protect our border and our population.
