Issue Position

There is no more beautiful place than the Pacific Northwest. We can't just expect that beauty to stay without being good stewards while we are here. Too many people believe we can't have both a strong economy and a strong environment. I believe this is a false choice. We need to have clear environmental standards for our businesses that ensure clean air and water for generations to come.

Everywhere I go in the 5th district, people say to me that they moved here because of the natural beauty of the region. We need to continue to protect and preserve open space with programs like the "Cascade Agenda" that encourage more density in areas already developed to preserve open space in our undeveloped lands.
