Glenn Hegar is helping lead the fight to curb illegal immigration in Texas, secure our border and increase homeland security. Our border with Mexico has become a war zone and Glenn understands that if the federal government won't do their job in protecting our citizens, the State of Texas must step up. That is why he has supported placing Texas National and State Guardsmen, Texas Rangers and DPS Troopers on our border. As the former Vice Chairman of the Law Enforcement Committee when he was in the Texas House, Glenn Hegar understands that our law enforcement officers must have the tools and resources they need to protect our border and our communities from those who seek to do us harm. He has voted to dedicate millions of additional dollars to law enforcement officers engaged in the fight against illegal immigration. Senator Hegar is opposed to any Texas city offering sanctuary to those who are in our country illegally and he strongly supports Voter ID legislation to prevent non-citizens from taking part in Texas elections, protecting the sanctity of our ballots.
