The economy of the 109th District is dominated by Agriculture and Oil. These industries are pivotal in creating jobs and the livelihood of those in Central and Western Kansas. Although these are the prominent industries in our District, they also dominate the overall local economy. Communities have cooperatives, stores and schools because of their presence. Troy works on his family's farm and with local small businesses with financing, job creation and finding a place in their community. He realizes that a strong economy thrives on job creation and small businesses being successful.
