Issue Position

As a former Medicare fraud prosecutor, I understand too well how fraud and waste drive up the cost of health care. In its next session, our legislature will have the critically important job of stepping into the wake of this summer's Supreme Court decision upholding the Affordable Care Act. It is hard to overstate how important it will be to have legislators who are market-minded, focused on incentivizing good outcomes for patients, and committed to making Florida a hub for medical advancement. I am committed to sustaining and improving access to world-class health care for all Floridians by focusing on its spiraling cost, as there is no more serious obstacle to the long-term viability of our system. As the husband of an intensive care unit physician, I am especially honored to have the endorsement of the Dade County Medical Association.
