Issue Position

North Carolina must protect and defend the right of lawful citizens to own and possess firearms. The 2nd Amendment is under attack by those who claim eliminating guns will eliminate crime. The evidence is to the contrary, an armed citizenry decreases the frequency of crime. Thomas Jefferson explained the need for an armed citizenry; to defend against those who choose to harm us, to defend against a foreign enemy and to defend against the abuses of our own government.
