Sinema Rejects Partisan Bill, Says Fix, Not Fight

Statement

Date: Aug. 2, 2013

Today, Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema voted against H.R. 2009, a partisan bill which obstructs the Internal Revenue Service's obligation to implement the Affordable Care Act.

"I voted against today's bill because it eliminates funds that small and medium-sized businesses need to help cover the costs of their employee health care plans, said Sinema.

"I call on Congress to work together to improve the Affordable Care Act by lowering costs for businesses and families while retaining portions that work well, like ensuring that no American is denied coverage for pre-existing conditions."

Sinema has co-sponsored three bipartisan bills making adjustments to the ACA, including legislation to repeal taxes on medical devices.
