Norton to Hold a Conversation on Hot-Button Issues with Seniors, Today

Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today will hold a Norton in Your Neighborhood for seniors at the Renaissance Adult Day Health Care Center at 5214 Foote St. NE, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Norton will brief seniors on current congressional issues affecting them, including proposed Republican changes to Medicare and Medicaid, and the proposed changes to cost-of-living adjustments for Social Security and other programs (Chained CPI). Today's Norton in Your Neighborhood is one of a series of visits by Norton at senior centers following Norton's Senior Legislative Day last month, which reached capacity.

"Our well-informed seniors always want to hear it straight on the issues that face them, whether it is the latest on Medicare and Medicaid, D.C. budget autonomy or the president's priorities," said Norton. "I am excited that so many senior centers that could not be accommodated at our Senior Legislative Day have asked me to bring the event to them."
