Griffin: House CR Prevents Government Shutdown, Provides "Full and Permanent Delay of Obamacare'

Statement

Date: Sept. 20, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement after House passage of the Continuing Appropriations (CR) Resolution for FY 2014 (H.J.Res. 59):

"Like most Arkansans, I know President Obama's health care law is a train wreck that is already raising health care costs and lowering wages for thousands of hardworking families. Due to Obamacare, just this week, 20,000 Home Depot employees lost their health care. The House CR orders a full and permanent delay of Obamacare while keeping the federal government open. Now the Senate must act to pass this critical legislation and avoid a government shutdown -- something I continue to oppose because it will hurt Arkansans and waste hard-earned taxpayer dollars."
