Issue Position: Eliminate Half the Regulations on Small Business

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012

"Congress, the administration, and the states must recognize that our weak economy simply could not sustain all the new taxes, regulations, and mandates now under consideration." -Thomas J. Donohue, President and CEO, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

To put Americans back to work, we must eliminate the unnecessary bureaucracy and red tape that is crushing our small businesses. WE should set a goal and repeal half of the regulations currently imposed on businesses and agriculture.

I support the REINS Act (Regulations From the Executive Need of Scrutiny), which would require Congress to take up an up-or-down, stand-alone vote, and for the President to sign-off on all new major rules before they can be enforced.

*Repeal 50% of current regulations on business
*Pass the REINS Act
*Empower job-creators!
