Bera Applauds Bipartisan McConnell-Reid Solution to End the Shutdown

Congressman Ami Bera, M.D. applauded the bipartisan agreement to end the government shutdown, avoid government default, and negotiate a budget that Senators Reid and McConnell announced moments ago. He offered the following comment:

"I am proud to support the McConnell-Reid solution to end the shutdown" said Bera. "It will reopen our government, ensure that we can pay our bills, and put us on the path to passing a common sense, long-term budget that deals with our mounting debt and rebuilds an economy that works for middle class families. As a No Labels Problem Solver, I have been working with my Republican and Democratic colleagues and calling on leadership to put the American people before politics and get us out of this budget crisis. I am thrilled they have offered a bipartisan solution that can get Americans back to work, and end the governing from crisis to crisis."
