Bera Statement on Trans-Pacific Partership

Congressman Ami Bera, M.D. made the following statement on trade agreements and the need to protect the intersts of American workers:

"I understand and share the concerns many people have about trade agreements, and I am committed to creating and protecting American jobs in our interconnected global economy. That's why I signed a letter calling for increased transparency and cooperation with Congress and the Administration on the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The American people and their elected representatives should have a say in how any international trade agreement is drafted, and we must work to ensure that any free trade agreement we agree to protects the interests of American workers and grows our economy here at home."
