Washington, D.C. -- Rep. Kristi Noem today released the following statement after a study by the U.S. State Department concluded the Keystone XL Pipeline would not significantly alter greenhouse gas emissions:

"President Obama is running out of excuses to hold off the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline," said Rep. Noem. "It's in our nation's best interest to get this pipeline up and running as soon as possible. With thousands of jobs on the line including many in South Dakota and the State Department's own study showing no major climate impact, now is the time to move forward."

Rep. Noem has been a vocal supporter of the Keystone XL Pipeline's construction. Rep. Noem is a co-sponsor of H.R. 3, the Northern Route Approval Act, and in March 2013, Rep. Noem sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry requesting he support the immediate approval of the pipeline. Additionally, she joined over 145 House members in signing a letter to President Obama encouraging immediate approval.
