Congressman André Carson issued the following statement today regarding the kidnapping of girls and young women in Nigeria:

"As a Muslim and the father of a young girl, I strongly condemn the actions of this group and support American efforts to locate and rescue these young women. I would also ask our partners in the international community to be vigilant and work together to find the missing girls and return them to their families. These horrific actions cannot stand, and we join our hearts in prayer for these young women."
