Ayotte, McCain, Graham, Chambliss Statement Regarding House Armed Services Committee Vote to Save A-10

Press Release

U.S. Senators Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), released the following statement today regarding the House Armed Services Committee's bipartisan vote to protect the A-10:

"The House Armed Services Committee's overwhelming bipartisan passage of an amendment to prohibit the retirement of the A-10 next fiscal year is a significant interim victory for our ground troops. We applaud committee members for honoring our commitment to provide our troops the best possible close air support so they can accomplish their missions and return home safely. We look forward to addressing this issue in the Senate Armed Services Committee and working with members of both parties and both chambers to ensure the A-10 can continue to protect our ground forces."
