Rogers in St. Clair County: Says Regulations, Obamacare Hurting Jobs

Press Release

Date: May 13, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

During a visit to Pell City today, Congressman Mike Rogers said the vast expansion of federal regulations under President Obama -- along with Obamacare's rising healthcare premiums on working families and small businesses -- are threatening good paying jobs across St. Clair County and East Alabama.

Rogers' visit, along with others he is making across East Alabama, is part of his ongoing jobs tour of East Alabama businesses and manufacturers, which Rogers is continuing to help highlight his constituents' growing concerns about the policies coming from Washington.

"From Obamacare to burdensome federal regulations, too many of the big government policies of President Obama are costing jobs and threatening the livelihoods of East Alabama working families. I'm here to tell these hard-working folks that I will continue to fight the Obama Administration's jobs-threatening agenda, and to tell them that their concerns matter to Congress," Rogers said.

In Pell City, Rogers added he was impressed by the outstanding work done at the JRBC Packaging Solutions and also at the Goodgame Company. "We should all be proud of what East Alabama's entrepreneurs and workers are doing in this challenging economy," he said. "Alabama has the best workforce in America, and it really shows in the great work these folks are doing."

Rogers also spoke with the business managers and employees about their concerns over rising premiums under Obamacare. Later that day, Rogers reiterated similar themes in a speech to the Pell City Rotary Club.
