Former Guilford County Commissioner and 2012 6th Congressional District candidate Billy Yow announced his endorsement of Phil Berger for Congress Wednesday.

"I've known Phil for a number of years, and endorsing him is a no-brainer. He is clearly the best candidate in this race to replace Howard Coble and I lend him my full support," Yow said. "Phil has proven his commitment to getting things done with a common sense and conservative approach. I know he will work hard for the people of Guilford County and the entire 6th District. I ask all my fellow conservatives to join me in voting for Phil on July 15th."

"It is an honor to receive Billy's endorsement, and I thank him for his support," Phil Berger said. "Billy embodies the spirit of a citizen who has answered the call of duty to public service in order to improve his community. I hope to emulate his work ethic and common sense approach in Congress and look forward to working with him on behalf of our fellow citizens in the 6th District."

A veteran of the North Carolina National Guard, Billy Yow served for 12 years on the Guilford County Commission (2000-2012). He has spent the past 30 years as the owner of D&Y Well Drilling, Inc. in Greensboro. Billy and his wife, Kerri, currently reside in Southern Guilford County where he operates his small business and family farm. Billy and Kerri attend Community Baptist Church in Guilford County.
