Issue Position: Jobs and The Economy

Issue Position

Jason knows the importance of getting North Carolina's economy growing and creating jobs. He is committed to conservative, pro-business principles that will help create jobs: cutting taxes, reducing excessive regulations and fully funding worker retraining programs at our community colleges.
He is a believer and supporter of individual liberty and freedom, he believes that the free enterprise system is the best economic system whereby man can truly exercise his freedoms.
All too often, lawmakers have sought to unfairly and unjustly limit our freedoms and have adopted policies that restrict free markets.
It is Jason's belief that government's role in a free enterprise system should be limited and should foster an environment where individual initiative and innovation are rewarded, not discouraged.
Excessive regulation and taxation are contradictive to a free society.
North Carolinians still pay one of the highest tax rates in the southeast. Government spending should not increase more than population growth and inflation. Jason supports zero-based budgeting and a taxpayer's bill of rights.
Nationally known economist and former adviser to President Ronald Reagan, Dr. Art Laffer said: "Jason embodies the kind of young leadership our country so desperately needs to return to Ronald Reagan's principles of less government and more freedom."
"He makes decisions based on his core belief that when people are free to conduct business, we can grow the number of jobs in North Carolina's economy."
Laffer continued: "Today, we need leaders like Jason who support pro-growth, pro-business, and pro-jobs policies for North Carolina."
Jason will fight to make sure that North Carolina is "Open for Business" and he knows the easiest way to do that is to get government out of the way.
