Issue Position: Protecting and Creating Jobs

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014

Ben Allen knows that job creation should be the number one focus of our state government. Ben Allen has record of creating clean energy jobs, protect career and technical education in our schools from budget cuts and expand job training programs for youth to prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow.

Ben personally led the successful Los Angeles launch of the Spark Program which is connecting hundreds and hundreds of disadvantaged students with life-changing apprenticeships in both the private and public sectors.
Ben is passionate about career and technical education training and has fought to preserve and protect training programs in our schools as a school board member.
As School Board President, Ben helped to conceptualize and pass a major bond measure that create good local jobs while improving school facilities.
As our next State Senator, Ben will make sure that we are investing our tax dollars in improving our failing state infrastructure and creating good jobs at good wages.

Ben will fight for job-creating tax incentive for those who invest in companies and businesses in (1) the entertainment industry, (2) renewable energy and clean tech fields, (3) pharmaceutical and biological research sectors, and (4) the technology industry who base 100% of their jobs in California. These are the types of high-quality and good paying jobs that are unfortunately easily outsourceable, it's important for our state government to fight to keep and expand job creating business that will create the high paying jobs of tomorrow in California.
