Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement today after the City of Minneapolis and the Metropolitan Council came to an agreement on Southwest Light Rail.

"I congratulate the City of Minneapolis and the Metropolitan Council for reaching an agreement on the Southwest Light Rail. Today's agreement is an important step in building a strong, multi-modal transportation system for Minneapolis and our entire region.

"I'm pleased that equity considerations have been taken seriously. We must continue to ensure that everyone in our community has an opportunity to prosper. That endeavor is, and will remain, ongoing."
