Issue Position

New Hampshire students consistently rank near the top of national achievement surveys. Therefore, I oppose Common Core because I believe it will dumb-down our current education system and ultimately hurt our students. I also believe that decisions about our children's education should be made at the local level -- by parents, teachers and locally elected school boards, rather than a national network of bureaucrats and special interests.

As a parent and grandparent, I also believe we need to give families as many options as possible when it comes to educating their children, and that is why I have always supported school choice, including charter schools and home schooling.
