Issue Position: Fiscal Disciple

Issue Position

When I decided to run for The Autauga County Commission, it was because I saw our tax money was being misused. I ran to put a stop to it, and we did. During my tenure on the commission, we built a jail (which included an agreement between the city and the county that saved us both money), built a Probate Office, paved over 30 miles of dirt roads, built many bridges, and provided incentives for economic development. We did all of this while building our total account balance to $13.3 million (which was nearly as the total yearly revenue). Autauga County has weathered the worst of the economic crisis without laying off or furloughing county employees because of the decisions we made back then. I am proud of my fiscal record, because that is YOUR money -- and I don't think anyone has the right to spend it frivolously.
