Issue Position

Iowa has weathered the economic storm better than most states, but we can always do better. I grew up in Eagle Grove and helped on a family farm, and I know the value of hard work. In my younger years, I held a variety of jobs as I worked my way through college. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and I have been a small business owner and a job creator for more than 30 years. I know how government regulation can hurt small businesses, and I will work to cut red tape which can get in the way of our expanding economy. I will also look for ways to expand jobs through innovative technology, such as wind energy, solar and other renewable fuels. Iowa has a great work force. Let's put people to work !
