Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy (R-LA) led the Louisiana House Republican delegation to urge Senator Harry Reid to call the Senate back in session to address the immigration crisis.

Rep. Cassidy, along with Majority Whip Scalise, Reps. Boustany, Fleming and McAllister are calling on Senator Reid to take up legislation passed in the House that would secure the border and end the President's executive amnesty.

Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:

"It is disappointing that Senate Democrats chose to leave town without addressing the crisis at the border. The House took steps to resolve the problem. The best way for the Senate to address Americans' concerns is by coming back in session and passing legislation that will secure our borders and stop President Obama's executive amnesty."
