Location: San Bernardino, CA

Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar, Democratic candidate for Congress in California's 31st district, received the endorsement of VETERANS' VISION, his campaign announced today. The national veterans group put its hard earned credibility behind Pete Aguilar, supporting his election to the United States House of Representatives.

"Our nation's veterans have served their country with honor, and it is our responsibility to deliver for them when they return home," Aguilar said in response to the endorsement. "I'd like to thank VETERANS' VISION for recognizing my commitment to our veterans and military families."

"I will do everything I can to help reform the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs by advocating for transparency and accountability so that our brave men and women in uniform get the health care benefits they have earned," Aguilar continued. "But the challenges facing returning veterans don't end at the VA. That's why I support policies that provide job training, mental health services and support for military spouses and children."

VETERANS' VISION has made endorsements for federal offices in every election since 1996. The main criterion for endorsement has always been whether or not a candidate stands up for veterans.

"Aguilar has been active through the entire endorsement process. He showed his concern for the brave men and women who serve our country and backed it up by affirming the Veterans' Bill of Rights. He is a candidate who should be taken seriously. If the people of the 31st District want change in the VA, then Pete Aguilar is the man to make that happen," noted Raul Herrera, Communications Coordinator with The VETERANS' VISION.

Pete Aguilar is a small business owner and Mayor of Redlands. He is a strong advocate for economic growth and fairness for the middle class in the Inland Empire and a leader who has reached across party lines to serve the best interests of San Bernardino County.
