Lujan Grisham Statement on ISIL Amendment

Statement

U.S. Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01) issued the followed statement after voting in favor of an amendment authorizing the training and equipping of rebel groups in Syria to combat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL):

"ISIL poses a serious and direct threat to our national security, and we must respond in a strategic and decisive manner. This effort is warranted to protect Americans citizens abroad and our allies and to eliminate the international terrorist threat posed by ISIL. Going forward, Congress must be vigilant in its oversight and ensure that this operation remains focused and effective."
