Issue Position: Albany Reform

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014

I'm a native New Yorker and I love this state--which is why it's so painful to see our state and our people suffer because of the greed and stupidity in Albany. There's an old expression: a fish stinks from the head. Well, in the State of New York, our economy is pathetic, our cost of living is insane, and jobs are leaving by the thousands because our government is being run by cronies, insiders, and deal-makers who make sure that things turn out fine for them and their friends--they run up the bills and stick us with the tab. Albany's contracts are bloated, its bureaucracies are inefficient, and its culture is so corrupt that the Governor had to shut down the Moreland Commission because it was digging up more dirt than they could handle. No wonder we're fed-up-to-here with the Albany Follies. I'm running to change the vulture culture in the state capital. And I know how to do it--I re-established the Ethics Committee in my own Town of Deerpark, because no one should be allowed to use a position of public trust for private gain.
