Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) released the following statement regarding Yom Kippur, the which begins at sundown tonight:
"For the Jewish community in Ohio, the United States and around the world, families gather in observance of Yom Kippur, a day of reflection and repentance. This is a time for families, communities and even nations to come together and rededicate themselves to overcoming differences and building a better future. Let us reaffirm a commitment to the core values shared by all faiths: a resolve to be kind and treat others with respect, civility and generosity. In a time of economic hardship for so many in our community, it is important that we all work to make the New Year better for those who are struggling. "
"I wish my Jewish constituents an easy fast and a meaningful Yom Kippur. May you all be sealed in the Book of Life."
